About Us
Have you ever thought of becoming a host family for foreign students? If the thought of some extra income and an introuduction to a different culture sounds appealing, then this could be perfect for you. Opening up your home to become a host family with ELH is a unique, rewarding, fun and educational experience for the whole family. It gives families a chance to host international students, meet new friends and appreciate learning and sharing differences in cultures and language. We offer families a chance to host short stay students in the Lancing and Shoreham areas. We are also looking to expand through to East Worthing and Steyning.
My name is Maria, and I am the company director for English Language Holidays. We cater for short stay international students ranging in age from from 11-18, throughout the year, with a break in August. Students are mainly european with the majority of our students visiting us from the Czech Republic.
Can i be a host family?
If you have a spare room in your family home then you can be a host family. Students must be placed in groups of a minimum of 2. They mostly require full board, which consists of breakfast, a packed lunch and an evening meal. Students have a daily timetable which consists of daily outings and lessons, host families will be allocated a meeting point where they will need to drop off their students in the morning and collect them in the evening. Morning drop offs are generally around 07.30am and evening pick ups are around 18.30pm but can be later.
As well as hosting students we also have opportunities for some families who would like to host adults on a short stay basis. These include teachers, drivers and tour guides who travel alongside the students.

Once you have decided that hosting is for you i will arrange a home visit to come and see the room you have to offer and will supply you with the necessary paperwork that will need to be filled in. If you have a current DBS form then we can use this, if not we will arrange for this to be done, and its as simple as that!!!
